3 Things You Need To Organize Your Dorm Closet

Storage solutions to fit (almost) all of your clothes into a small space.

When I started thinking about bringing clothes to college I was SO stressed about how I was going to bring everything. I love my clothes and I wanted to bring them all of course. So, when I began thinking about exactly how everything would work I knew I would need different storage pieces to make everything fit. Here is how I ordered my stand up closet (which is my main storage space) to fit all of my clothes.

Although I am not proud of it, I brought 18 pairs of shoes…. Yes I know that’s insane but I love my shoes. I clearly didn’t skimp on the clothes either. Here are my main points of storage and how I fit so much.

1. A Second Hanging Bar

The second bar helped me fit double the amount of hanging items which was a game changer. It was also so easy to put together and install.

2. A Large Hanging Shoe Rack

This was my top non negotiable because I knew I wanted all kinds of shoes at college and wasn’t budging. I knew they would come in handy and I’m glad I have them all.

3. Under The Bed Storage

I knew I would need more space than just my closet and the small dresser included in my room. I know, I know that’s A LOT of clothes but I got worried things wouldn’t fit. I ordered these bins on a whim and I love them!

In them, I keep my winter coats, swimsuits, and other seasonal things that I wouldn’t use all the time. By using these bins under my bed I also eliminated having to put things on my upper shelf which looked so cluttered and is harder to get to. I saved that whole shelf for all things shower!

I hope these three things give you some ideas of how to do your dorm closet. They are all super helpful and I couldn’t fit everything without them!
